New Tires

What tires would you guys recommend on an all stock Rancher 420? I want bigger tires, but i dont want to lose much low end power or handling. I intend on mudding, but need to climb over logs and drive on dirt roads as well. I also have a small budget... Ha

Personally I would not go any bigger than stock if you are worried about performance. Take a look at the Sedona Mud Rebel, I'll be installing a set on my Foreman tomorrow. All 4 for under $250.

I went with stock tires on my wife's quad but went with 25 swamp lites, still has same jamp, low end power, sits a bit hires but if going with factor rims can only get 3/4 inch lug. With mine I went with new rims 26" X 9" mud lite XL on front and 26" x 12" Mud lite XL on rear, 1 1/8 inch lug I believe and great in mud. Dragged my wife on hard pack and beat her. I did notice a bit of a lag but only in auto, when I went into esp going uphill or in mud no problem.

I run Mudlites and like them pretty good.

Most 4-wheeler problems are caused by a loose nut connecting the handlebars and the seat!!

You only need two tools in life -- WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

Same as stock....even with the 500 motor I didn't want the extra stress of the bigger tires and lose of performance.

They come in 24" also which I think is stock on the Rancher.

I think i may go for 26 inchers. You bought new wheels too right? or did you put them on the factory rims?

Also are there any disadvantages to a 2'' lift kit on a rancher?
