essphore Thanks for all of the replies everyone! I did download a manual, and the coil falls within spec. I ended up dropping it off at a friends (he repairs all types of bikes/water crafts for a living) house, so I will report back with the results. The good thing is he has worked on a few TRX 90's in his career. Thanks again.

Deeperinthabush Welcome to da forums... Yes it is possible to get spark to the plug if the cdi is going bad... If the cdi is going bad it can have a whitish/yellow colored spark,or an intermittent spark,but will eventually quit having any spark at all(usually pretty soon)..You can see if the cdi gets hot to the touch if you can get it to run,and if it is hot then it is going out...Cold to slightly warm is ok...Also,check the coil itself,and the coil wire using the meter,and specs from the free e manual located in the schematics,and repair manual section on the main page.. cvetitula.ru is the password if prompted for one...

TRX2fiveO If you have the cover off there is a pink wire in a spring style lock you can removed that wire and check the spark again. However You more than likely have a bad pulse generator.

Melatv Check the compression --- you will see oil in the valve cover that is normal.

essphore I get a Yellowish/blueish, but not BRIGHT blue spark. That's good to know I can still get spark with failing CDI. I actually call a local dealer, and was told that if I have spark the CDI is still good. I'm not sure what to think now. A factory CDI is around $145, and I found a "Big Gun" rev box on Amazon for $114 shipped. I may go that route. Any other members have any more input? Thanks Again.

cmanningjr You can get intermitten spark with a cdi going bad..What color is the spark?? Bright Blue??

1991honda350 I had a whole bunch of spark/no spark issues with my bike, a 1991 Honda 350 4x4, then I remembered that I read on here somewhere that a member had to give his cdi a tap then it would be good again, I did the same and I was good to go (I replaced the cdi) so it is possible to have a bad(?) cdi and get spark but I found it wasn't steady or reliable

I did remove the lower valve cover, and found a little bit of oil pooled in the cover. Mean anything?
